Becoming a Scentsy consultant

As most of you know, I became a Scentsy consultant to supplement my writing income. I became a consultant in Feb, 2011. So far it's been such a blessing. More than the money, which is nice, I have had so much fun doing Scentsy. I can't wait to check my email and workstation every morning to see if I've gotten new orders or find out just what is going on with Scentsy. There is always an incentive or encouraging note from my upline to nudge me to greater things.

The friends I've made and the fun I have is definitely the best part. Through Scentsy I've reconnected with old friends who want to have parties. A few of my son's friends from school are even hosting parties for me. That's fun seeing these young women I've know since they were kids get excited about the products.

Scentsy is one of the fasting growing companies in North America. This is a perfect time to join the Scentsy team and take advantage of a generous compensation plan, working with great people, quality products that sell themselves, and plenty of territory still to be explored as you build your business.

Scentsy is a Party Plan Company. A Consultant generates sales through parties as well as creating a downline by recruiting new Consultants to do what he/she does. The commissions and incentives earned from the sale of retail products as well as residules generated from the group of Scentsy Consultants you recruit into the business make it a truly profitable endeavor.

If you're looking for a fun new hobby to get you out from behind your computer, or a little extra cash from a part time job, or to spend more time at home with your family, or even a new career then Scentsy is for you. For only $99 plus tax you will receive everything you need to begin your new career with Scentsy. Check out my website and see all the opportunities Scentsy has to offer.

Make Money in your spare time with Scentsy

According to the Senior Communication Spec at Scentsy, consultants may begin recruiting now to earn points for the 2012 incentive trip. Any recruits enrolled in the month of July will count toward trip points if those recruits become Certified Consultants before the qualification period ends on January 31, 2012. This doesn't mean you only have the month of July to earn points for the incentive. But Consultants will receive extra points for new Consultants recruited in July, as long as they become Certified Consultants by January 31, 2012.

If you've ever thought about becoming a Scentsy consultant, now's the time. You can begin immediately to earn your own points for the Incentive Trip. I have no idea where it will be, but I guarantee it will be awesome. This year was Disney World. Last year was Hawaii. And Scentsy trips are first class all the way. So join today & start earning for the trip.

Becoming a Scentsy consultant is your business. You can do it part-time between running the kids to ball practice and your regular job; as a hobby for a little extra money and to have fun with friends and family; or as a career. It's totally up to you. No matter which way you choose to run your business, Scentsy fits any lifestyle. Give it a try. What have you got to lose????????

The rest of the qualification details--and the location!-- will be announced at Stampede: Convention 2011 in Fort Worth in August. So start setting your goals now to earn Scentsy's next spectacular adventure!

Attitude Makes a Difference

"It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task, which more than anything else, will affect its successful outcome." William James

Last time I posted here about Ambition. Ambition is the key ingredient necessary in accomplishing one’s goals. Without it, it’s impossible to even decide what those goals are. If you are a Scentsy consultant, you probably had at least a little ambition toward what your business would become when making your decision. Maybe you want your Scentsy business to be a fun hobby. Maybe you want to earn a little extra money to put gas in your car. (Who doesn’t?) Maybe you need to replace a part time job. Or maybe like many of us, your ambition for your Scentsy business is to become financially independent and leave the nine to five grind behind.

Whatever your ambition for joining a Scentsy team—hopefully my team—that ambition will only get you so far. You also need a good attitude and action to put your money where your mouth is. Today we’re going to explore my favorite ingredient in pursuing your dreams—ATTITUDE.

Why is Attitude my favorite? Because it’s the easiest one to cultivate and control. At least it is for me.

I believe you reap what you sow. If you are honest and positive, people will be honest and positive right back. Have you ever tried to complain and gripe to someone who always wears a smile and sees the good in every situation? It’s no fun. They won’t get on board your whining train so you lose interest.

It’s the same way when you’re in a good mood around a negative Nellie. You know the one. They rain on every parade. No one wants to sit next to them at a party. When you ask how they are, they give you a laundry list of complaints and everything that’s wrong with the world.

You have a choice to make every time you open your mouth. You can either be positive and encouraging or you can talk about high gas prices and how the economy has tanked and no one is making money through direct marketing. It’s your choice. Do you want to encourage and lift up others? Or look for someone to board your pity train?

Yes, times are hard. The economy doesn’t look to be getting any better regardless on analysts’ predictions. Gas prices make me mad too. But I am blessed and highly favored or the Lord, and I take pleasure in sharing my enthusiasm for life and my business with others.

What about you? If you want your business to grow, you need to check your attitude. A good or bad attitude doesn’t only affect those around you. It affects how much effort and zeal you put toward your goals. The bar is set pretty high now for success. But it doesn’t mean it can be reached. If you approach your goals with the attitude that no one has money to buy Scentsy or no wants to join your team or you don’t have time or a supportive spouse or whatever else is holding you back, then you probably won’t go very far.

Fortunately our attitude is up to us. How’s yours? Are you determined to give your dreams everything you’ve got? Or are you going to wait to see what the economy does or how your mother-in-law reacts to another one of your pipe dreams?

Next time we’ll talk about taking ACTION. All the best laid plans in the world won’t do any good if you don’t back them up with action.

As always send your comments and let me know what you think of these posts. If you’re interested in making extra money to send your kids to camp or replacing income, contact me about Joining my Team. If you’d like to host a party or buy products for yourself, I can handle that too.

Ambition--Do you have enough to reach your goals?

For the next few days I’m going to post a series of articles about how to achieve your goals. For the sake of this blog, the articles will be about building your Scentsy business. For most of us, Scentsy isn’t the only thing in our lives. We have a lot going on. The following post can be related to any area in your life that you would like to improve or reach your goals.

With Scentsy or any other type of direct sales, many of us hold ourselves back because we don’t want to come across as pushy or rude. We’ve experienced pushy salesmen who’ve turned us off of a product or ruined our shopping experience with their strong sales tactics. The last thing we want to do is emulate those salesmen.

Have no fear. You are not like them. You are presenting a product you are proud of and you believe in, and you are presenting it to someone who can benefit in the same way that you benefited.

But I’m getting off track here. The point of this article is to teach that you can achieve your goals—whatever they are—and step out of your comfort zone to reach them without alienating others or becoming a bothersome salesman.

Three things are vital to step out of our comfort zone in order to reach our goals.
Ambition
Attitude
Action
The first component necessary in reaching our goals is AMBITION. Ambition—the first key ingredient we must have to reach our goals or to even become aware of what those goals are.

Ambition is defined as the desire for achievement of distinction and the willingness to strive for it.

What do you want? My goal with Scentsy is to supplement my sporadic writing income. That's kind of tricky because I don't always know a specific amount I need to earn each month. But I have an idea of what I need to do to build my business into a success. You probably do too.

Maybe you want to use Scentsy as a hobby. That's perfectly fine. Maybe you want to leave the workplace. Maybe you want to spend more time at home with your family. Take a moment to think about your goals and what you want.

Why do you want it? The economy is scary right now. Writing is a tough biz. I love the Scentsy products and I love sharing them with people, especially the opportunity of recruiting. I want people to be as blessed as I am.

Are you willing to pay the price? Hmm. This one gives me pause. Am I willing to turn off the TV, stay off the phone, put myself out there where I might be rejected?

I have a friend who keeps a money jar next to her workstation at the beauty salon where she works. Every tip and every extra dollar she can get her hands on goes into that money jar. She’s saving for a trip to Hawaii with her friends. They go every couple of years. Anyone who’s been to Hawaii knows it’s an expensive trip and sacrifices need to be made to make the trip a reality, especially on a stylist’s salary.

She really looks forward to this trip with her friends, and it’s worth every sacrifice she needs to make to get there.

What about you? Do you want to go to Hawaii? Back to school? Do you want to turn your Scentsy business into a full time income? How badly do you want to see these dreams come true?

Tune in tomorrow as we discuss how ATTITUDE makes a difference in the way we pursue our dreams.

As always I would love to have you join my Scentsy team. It's fun, exhilarating, and a thrill a minute. Contact me or visit my page. I promise to be there with you every step of your journey.

Are you an inspiration to others?

"The test we must set for ourselves is not to march alone but to march in such a way that others will wish to join us." - Hubert Humphrey, U.S. vice president

What does it take to be a leader? What can we do to make others wish to follow us? How can we instill confidence in others?

I've been thinking of this some lately as I begin to recruit others into my Scentsy business. I am so happy that a friend introduced me to the opportunities of becoming an independent Scentsy consultant, I am eager to do the same for others.

In all aspects of life it is necessary to inspire others. It's how we grow as human beings, as well as return some of the many blessings we've been given. Parents inspire children. Preachers inspire congregants. Teachers inspire students. Those who have succeeded inspire those who wish to.

How do you inspire? Are you an encourager? Are you a visionary? Are you passionate about what you're doing?

I believe it's necessary to be each of these things if you want to inspire and lead others to greatness. "The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but reveal to them their own." - Benjamin Disraeli

What is your vision for your future? Do you even have one? Can you explain why you do what you're doing? If someone was interested in your job, would you be the person they'd want to talk to? Would someone want to follow where you lead? If you are passionate and encouraging, you will inspire others.

I hope I have inspired you. If you're interested in learning more about Scentsy or starting your own Scentsy business, I'd love to have you on my team. Visit my website or email me your questions.

* Father’s Day (June 19th)- Maybe Dad is or isn’t a “Sharp Dressed Man,” but he is sure to love the scents in our “Scentsy Man” category! If candles aren’t his thing, how about a Scent Circle for his car, a Room Spray for his office, a Scent Pak for his gym bag, or a Travel Tin to take on trips with him?
* House Warming- Give a new homeowner a SAFE way to make their new home smell great! There are many warmers and scents to choose from in our Spring/Summer 2011 catalog.
* Anniversaries/Bridal Showers- We are officially in the season of weddings and anniversaries. Give the Bride and Groom one of the “Do it Yourself” Scentsy warmers with a “Wedded Bliss” Theme Pack. Or, better yet, you could customize the warmer with their wedding date and then gift it!

Scentsy doesn't feel like work

I turned in two awesome Scentsy orders on Sunday. One was from a home show Saturday at the home of a good friend. It was a small crowd, but she did very well and walked away with some cool FREE stuff. The same day, another friend turned in an order from a basket party. Her order total was the biggest I've turned in so far.

Exciting!

She tells me it would've been a lot bigger if she'd actually worked at it. She said, "I didn't even do anything."

I'm telling you, selling Scentsy doesn't seem like work. Even if the products didn't sell themselves, the whole process is so simple and easy, it feels more like a party than work. After turning in my orders and figuring up how much money I made over the weekend, I told my husband I almost felt guilty for getting paid for this.

Even if you're not a party person--I'm not--or have never direct sold anything--I hadn't--or don't have a huge established support system that will buy whatever you sell--I don't--you can be a success in this business.

I'd love to have you join my team. Check out my website and consider how you can change your life and have a great time doing it.

Tips & Tricks to Stop Binging

The purpose of this blog isn't only to bring Scentsy to your attention, but also about my life during my Scentsy journey. One of the things on my mind a lot these days is--as often the case with women--my weight. I've never met a woman who doesn't think about her weight at least once in a while, usually daily. We wonder if we look okay in this outfit or if that one still fits or if we should wear this pair of jeans to the party since we're going to eat too much and the jeans will be tight and uncomfortable by the end of the evening.

Come on. Be honest. We think about it. We might even obsess about it.

Found these tips and tricks on Spark People this morning and thought I'd share them here.

1. 30-second savor trick. My sister did this one on Weight Watchers. Put a bite of something really tempting and yummy in your mouth and keep it there for 30 seconds. The idea is after 30 seconds you'll enjoy the flavor and sensation so much that one bite is enough to satisfy. My sister would savor a few moments and then spit it out. I always end up chewing and swallowing, but maybe you have more discipline than me.

2. Sip green tea. Okay, I know this is really supposed to work and green tea is awesome and makes you svelte and healthy, but it tastes nasty to me. I'd rather be fat and sickly than drink it. You'll have to try this one on your own and get back to me.

3. Eat a chunk of grapefruit before each meal. Grapefruit is supposed to lower insulin levels, helping you avoid the blood sugar spike that makes you crave goodies. That one probably works too. I eat grapefruit for breakfast sometimes, and I know it's good for me. Sadly, I'm not likely to carry it around with me to eat before each meal.

Basically, I'm back at square one as far as avoiding binges. I think whenever I want to mindlessly eat, I'll walk my dogs or do some jumping jacks next to my desk or brush my teeth. Sounds easier than those other tricks. But that's just me.

Back to work. Have a great day. And if you need Scentsy, would like to host a party, or join my team--that'd be awesome--I'm always here for you. Visit my website or shoot me a msg.

My Scentsy Journey

I am a brand new Scentsy consultant and huge Jane Austen fan, so when I made the decision to become a Scentsy consultant, it only made scents to combine my two loves. Recently my good friend was in search of a career change and she introduced me to Scentsy. I'm so glad she did. The products are amazing! They practically sell themselves. Just put a sample and a brochure in someone's hand and you've gained a customer.

Also a writer of Christian fiction, I did what all writers can't help doing. I created this blog to chronicle my Scentsy Success. If you're unfamiliar with Scentsy, you are in for a treat. It rocks.

Scentsy’s distinctive warmers use a low-watt bulb to melt specially formulated wax slowly, maximizing its fragrance time. With no flame, soot, or wick, the Scentsy wickless candle system is a safe way to enjoy more than 80 delicious scents. From Blueberry Cheesecake to Mochadoodle to Satin Sheets to Twilight, there's something for everyone. Even the guys.

Guys and gals alike will love the NEW PATRIOT COLLECTION and CAMPUS COLLECTION.

I'd love for you to contact me about hosting your own fun and easy Scentsy event or becoming a consultant. You'll be so glad you did. Click here or the link above and I'll set you up.
